Greater Manchester Police Region

Formed in 1974, Greater Manchester Police Force covers an area of approximately 500 square miles, serving a population of approximately 2 and a half million people.

As of May 2009 Manchester Police force has: 8167 Police Officers, 380 Special Constables, 270 Community Support Officers and 3769 Police Staff.
